DVD Repo

First off all, I want to use my installation DVD as a repository. To do that we add rhel-dvd.repo with the follwoing content:

[root@localhost ~]# cat /etc/yum.repos.d/rhel-dvd.repo

[rhel-dvd]

name=Red Hat Enterprise Linux DVD

baseurl=file:///mnt/rheldvd/Server

enabled=1

gpgcheck=0

The DVD is automatically mounted in the directory with spaces, which are not accepted in baseur. The following sym link resolves the issue.

[root@localhost ~]# ln -s /media/RHEL_5.4\ i386\ DVD/ /mnt/rheldvd

Then yum update processes the repo data.

[root@localhost ~]# yum update
